DESCRIPTION: A small weevil measuring up to 4mm in length with a  wingcases of tawny orange patterned with white scales, the front tibia is  slightly expanded to halfway, the femur is swollen with a small tooth on the  underside.  DISTRIBUTION:  Southern   Britain with few records further North.  HABITAT:  hedgerows, Gardens and woodland edges are the best  places to seek out this smart looking weevil, especially where Hawthorn,  Blackthorn and Apple and Pear trees are present.   PERIOD:  Late  Spring to summer.
